| A queen of the early bumblebee (Bombus pratorum). This species has either one or two yellow bands on the body and a red tip to the tail. It is quite a small bee, and emerges earlier than most species. It is thought that this species frequently completes two colony cycles in a single year. by Dave Goulson. |
