The Great Yellow project

The Great Yellow bumblebeeThe Great Yellow bumblebees (Bombus distinguendus) is one of the UK's two rarest bumblebee species and gives us great cause for concern. It is now restricted to the north and west of Scotland where populations are dangerously small and isolated.

Through the work of our Conservation Officer for Scotland, Bob Dawson, we aim to ensure the long-term survival of this species. It won't be an easy task, as the habitats they depend on are in turn dependent on ways of life which are on the decline.

You can follow the progress of this project by keeping and eye on Bob's blog.
