Prof. Dave Goulson

An international expert in bumblebee conservation with a large scientific research group, based at the University of Stirling. Dave was heavily involved in establishing the Trust back in 2006.

Paul Williams

Dr. Paul Williams

Based at the Natural History Museum in London, Paul is the world authority on bumblebee taxonomy and identification, but also has a strong research interest in conservation and ecology.

"I study bumblebees because they are colourful, fun, and their diversity is intriguing. I want others to be able to enjoy these things too, so we need to find out why they are declining and do all we can to help conserve them…"

Ben Darvill

Dr. Ben Darvill

After completing a PhD in the conservation genetics of rare bumblebees, Ben was determined that conservation science would be translated into practical action. Ben currently works for the charity as Development Manager and Ecologist (see Staff page).

"If we are to conserve and enhance populations of our struggling species we need to work towards landscape-scale changes in the availability of flower-rich habitat"
